Wedged just between Nosy Be and Madagascar is the island of Nosy Komba, also called Nosy Ambariovato, meaning the island surrounded by rocks. This volcanic island is covered in dense forest and is said to be shaped like giant turtle. The peak of the volcanic island is at an altitude of 622 meters, also covered by dense tropical forest. Although a much smaller island than Nosy Be, the island is becoming nearly as popular, and is already well known for its emerald water as well as its various small beaches. There are no cars and no electricity on this island, and the only way to reach Nosy Komba is by boat, making it the absolute perfect place to escape from the busy lives we live.
Nosy Komba is home to a variety of lemur known as a Maki, and they are plentiful, can be found swinging freely from the tree canopies. These lemurs are so common Nosy Komba is often nicknamed The Island of Lemurs, and is truly a unique experience.
Activities include whale safaris, a diving cruise and day walks across the island to see the flora and fauna. It is the quintessential place to escape from a busy schedule, it is an island made for relaxing.
